Hello, good morning, Happy March, and welcome to a new (and my first) product review segment! This week are going to be reviewing Hillary’s Super Cauliflower Veggie Burger (that’s a mouthful).
Price: $5.49 for a box of 4 patties
Highlights: These burgers are free of gluten, soy, grains, corn, and nuts.
Initial thoughts: The instructions were pretty standard. Pan fry for 6 minutes on each side, enjoy. I was really excited while cooking the first patty. It was sizzling and browning. A little ‘floppy’ s I flipped it, but assumed it would firm up as the other side browned. It didn’t. Even with longer cook times, all 4 patties fell apart trying to get them on their respective bun. I also noticed while trying to put them back together that they were really mushy in the middle with very identifiable chunks of vegetable falling out. I already knew these patties wouldn’t be toddler approved (I served them anyways for theatrics and it was definitely a side dish dinner for the tots). I still had a little hope so I served it up with some provolone style slices and barbecue sauce for myself and the hub. I honestly would have enjoyed just a bun with sauce and cheese on it. The outer layer had a pleasant crisp but the rest was a mushy mess that didn’t provide much flavor.
Final Verdict: It’s a no from us. While I admire their allergy friendly ingredients, I won’t be reaching for this brand again.
